Thermal/CFD Analysis

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) A tool for solving flow and thermal related issues.
CFD is a virtual prototyping tool that uses conservation laws of physics to predict airflow and heat transfer in the modeled system.

CFD solves simultaneously:

  • Momentum equation
  • Continuity equation
  • Energy equation

CFD is the only technology which provides correctly coupled and non-linear modeling of convection, conduction, and radiation.
One of the main advantages of CFD tools when compared to NON-CFD tools is that the heat transfer coefficient between the solids and the surrounding fluids is derived correctly, eliminating the usual assumptions.

CAS  gained an extensive, hands on expirience working with Coolit  - a specifically designed software package for electronic systems and HyperWork CFD for general purpose flow and thermal calculations.
Coolit Solves:

  • Steady state analysis
  • Transient analysis
Coolit, which is a CFD software for electronic packaging that have edvanced esey to use interface, is using finite volume mathematical techniques and has 4 different solver systems.

HyperWork CFD Solves:

  • Steady state analysis
  • Transient analysis
  • Sliding and Morfing mesh
  • 2 phase flow
  • Free surface flow
  • and much more...
HyperWorks, which is a general CFD software, is using finite elements mathematical techniques and has few advanced solvers.
